There was an issue with the truss rod as well. It was a beautiful guitar but for some reason the jumbo frets prevented me from really liking it a lot. I owned/played a '07 Hwy 1 tele for 5yrs. If it's possible though, I'd try and play it before buying. I've heard plenty of others give nothing but glowing reviews of them. My experience with it should in no way convince you not to buy one.

Don't know if it would have helped.Īnyway, that was just one guitar. I wish I would have kept it and tried replacing the neck. It was a shame, because it was a beautiful guitar. I pulled my CS69 pups out of it and sent it to ebay land. The only way it wouldn't fret out is if I set the action ridiculously high, and that made the guitar just as unplayable. I had frets leveled, I shimmed the neck, relief in the neck.everything I tried failed. No matter what I did, I could not keep the thing from fretting out badly in the high register.

Unfortunately, the guitar was pretty much unplayable past the 9th or 10th fret. I replaced them with some Fender CS69s.the big frets were nice.makes big bends smooth and easy. Personally, I hated the pups.they sounded horrible. I loved the finish on the guitar.although I've heard since that they don't have a true nitro finish.they supposedly have a pretty thick poly undercoat and then a light nitro coat over that.don't know if it's true and I personally don't think it matters one way or another.I never put much weight into to the "nitro vs poly" thing.
